About the Artist

Robert Ward was born and raised in Southeast Missouri on the banks of the Mississippi River. He currently resides in Cape Girardeau Missouri. He is a retired oral and maxillofacial surgeon. After retiring he began studying art. Oil painting quickly became his preferred expression. And he has studied under some of the best and most respected current artists in the country. That list includes Bill Davidson, Jay Moore, Matt Smith, Michael Lynch, and Charles Rhinehart.

His subject matter is nature and all its beauty, often that includes old barns, old trucks, and old mills. He loves to paint water and tree landscapes including many rural Missouri, Colorado, and Arizona scenes.
